James P Grant School of Public Health, in collaboration with UNICEF, conducted a short course on “Mainstreaming Nutrition in Public Health and other Relevant Sectors” for District Nutrition Support Officers (DNSOs). The course was designed to enhance technical knowledge and improve proficiency in supporting local governments and partner NGOs by effectively planning, coordinating, and monitoring of nutrition mainstreaming. The course also assisted programme managers in identifying the challenges and bottlenecks in implementing DNIs. The course also intended to identify the challenges and bottlenecks of implementing DNIs and help out solving the problems through effective communication with the partners. In March 2015, a basic course for the third cohort of twenty one newly recruited DNSOs and an advanced course for all current forty two DNSOs took place.
