Mirak receives Chancellor’s Gold Medal 2013

mirakMirak Raj Angdembe, a student of MPH 8th Batch, received Chancellor’s Gold Medal for the year 2013 for his outstanding academic performance at masters level. Professor Alauddin Ahmed, adviser to the prime minister on education, social development and political affairs, hands over the medal to Mirak in the 8th convocation of BRAC University at Bangabandhu Conference Centre on 17 February, 2013. 
Mirak scored CGPA 4.00 in the scale of 4. A total of 741 students from various academic disciplines joined the ranks of BRACU graduates. The programme commenced with Professor Golam Samdani Fakir, pro-vice-chancellor of the university, delivering the welcome address. This was followed by the convocation speech delivered by social activist and Bollywood actor Rahul Bose. He praised BRAC’s efforts at alleviating poverty not only in Bangladesh, but in many countries around the world. 
Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, KCMG, in his speech as the special guest, expressed his hope that the BRAC University would continue to play its role in dispensing quality education in the country.  Professor Ainun Nishat, vice-chancellor of BRAC University described the progress of the university so far made and laid out the ambitious plan of the university.
