Cutting-edge Research at BRAC JPGSPH, BRAC University

Over the past decade, BRAC JPGSPH has built up research capacity through over 90 national and multi-country research projects within different spheres of public health. Our research provides evidence, translates knowledge into action and ensures advocacy on emerging and critical issues in public health. Areas of research have included gender equity, health equity, health workforce, human rights and health, implementation science, infectious disease, maternal and child health, nutrition, programme evaluation sexual and reproductive health rights, adolescents and youth populations, sexuality of marginalized communities, urban health of slum populations, and more.

BRAC JPGSPH researchers rely on qualitative and quantitative methodologies, as well as mixed methods and anthropology. These procedures provide comprehensive and quality evidence to communities, practitioners, government, and implementation partners. Research findings are also incorporated into development interventions undertaken by the Government of Bangladesh, BRAC and other implementing organisations.

The School has been training future research scientists and public health professionals in an environment rich in learning, solutions and service orientation. Our aim is to prepare public health leaders and innovators dedicated to improving public health. Partnerships have been forged with leading academic and research institutions globally to build a bridge across North-South collaborations and South-South collaborations to create evidence and influence policy nationally and globally.
