Introductory course on Universal Health Coverage

Professional Skills Training Centre of James P Grant School of Public Health, at BRAC University offered a five-day ‘Introductory course on Universal Health Coverage’. The course was conducted by the Director of Centre of Excellence for Universal Health Coverage, Professor Syed Masud Ahmed, Ashadul Islam (Director General Health Economics Unit), Prof. Lokman Hakim (DGHS) Nahid Akhter Jahan and Rumana Haque (DU). Among the JPGSPH resource persons were, Nadia Ishrat Alamgir, Dr. Lal B Rawal, Dr. Toufique Joarder and Dr. Touhidul Islam (BRAC). A total of 21 participants attended the course in February, 2016. The five day full-time course highlights specific issues of UHC in Bangladesh in the light of health system building blocks and also advocates and appraises issues related to this in the context of LMICs. The course was funded by The Centre of Excellence for Universal Health Coverage.
